WOW! What an event!
Our first Multi-Chamber networking event was an incredible success! We had over 100 attendees representing businesses from seven Chambers of Commerce: Armonk, Chappaqua-Millwood, Greater Ossining, Mt. Kisco, Mt. Pleasant, Pleasantville, and Sleepy Hollow-Tarrytown.
A huge thank you to the staff at The Pleasantville Manor for taking such good care of us and ensuring everything ran smoothly.
We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future and continuing to build strong connections within our business community.
Thank you for your participation and support. Stay tuned for details about our next event!

Thank you to everyone who attended and made the event so special!
Sue received proclamations from Pleasantville Mayor Peter Scherer, County Legislator Margaret Cunzio, and Westchester County Executive George Latimer. Margaret Cunzio even declared April 25th as Sue Lara Day in Westchester County!

President, Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce
Dear Chamber Members and Members of the Pleasantville Business Community,
Warm greetings as we step into the promising year of 2024! The Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce extends heartfelt wishes for a joyous and prosperous New Year, filled with opportunities for growth and success.
Looking back on the past year, we are delighted to share the positive events and accomplishments within the Chamber. The addition of 30 new businesses to the Pleasantville Chamber, the successful sponsoring of the 2nd Annual Pleasantville Block Party, and the launch of the Shopper Loyalty Campaign mark notable highlights. Furthermore, the return of the Business Person of the Year event and the participation in numerous networking events and ribbon-cutting ceremonies for new businesses contributed to concluding the year with the second-highest membership total in our history. These achievements underscore our shared commitment to building a vibrant business environment, even in the post-pandemic era.
As the President of the Chamber, I am privileged to collaborate with a dedicated Board and staff; all driven by a shared vision of fostering continued business growth in our vibrant community.
We extend sincere gratitude to our members who partnered with us in 2023, contributing to the success of our mission through participation in networking events. A special thank you goes to the generous sponsors of the 2023 Pleasantville Block Party—your support was instrumental in making the event a tremendous success!
To our valued general membership, your unwavering support is the backbone of our Chamber. We recognize and appreciate the significant contributions you make to both our community and the Chamber itself.
As we embark on the New Year, we invite you to renew your membership for 2024. You can conveniently renew online at www.pleasantvillechamber.com, offering two options: a one-time payment or automatic renewal. If you prefer to renew by check, kindly complete the form on the reverse side and send it along with your check payable to the Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce to P.O. Community Block Party, September 21, 2024: The Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce Community Block Party is scheduled for this Saturday, September 21, (rain date of Sept. 28) on Washington Avenue and Wheeler Avenue from 1pm-6pm. In support of this event, the following road closures will take place:
Parking and egress from private parking lots onto closed roads will not be permitted during these times. Only pedestrian access will be available.
Update on the Village Pool: In August, the Village Board approved the award of the pool reconstruction project to Heuer & Company, the lowest bidder, with a contract amount of $6,033,839. In addition, the Board has authorized a supplemental bond resolution to borrow an additional $1 million, raising the total bond authorization to $6 million. Any expenses beyond this amount will be covered by the Village’s fund balance. The annual debt service for the $6 million bond will likely increase village taxes by approximately $170 for the average property owner. However, this amount will be offset by some increases in pool membership fees. Construction is underway with the goal to have the pool ready for use by next Memorial Day. This project is the result of four years of community engagement, planning, and design, with significant input from the Village’s dedicated pool task force. For more information about the pool project, please click here click here.
Manville Road Pedestrian Project Update: Construction on the retaining wall at the Memorial Plaza/Manville Road intersection is nearly complete. Next, the project will involve installing curbs and sidewalks around Monument Island and across the MTA bridge to Wheeler Avenue, which will include the planned closure of the slip lane in late September. Work will then begin to update pedestrian signals and install a mast arm traffic signal at the Wheeler Avenue/Manville Road intersection. In addition, four drainage structures will be replaced. Upon completion of this phase, Manville Road from Tompkins Avenue to Grant Street will be milled and repaved. For an overview of this phase of the project, please click here.
Closure of Memorial Plaza Slip Lance/Work in the northern end of Memorial Plaza: The Manville Road project will result in the removal of the right hand ‘slip lane’ exiting the north end of Memorial Plaza. A dedicated right-hand turn lane will be installed at the Memorial Plaza/Manville Rd intersection to accommodate the loss of the slip lane. During construction in the north end of Memorial Plaza, parking will be restricted from approximately the Metro North overpass north towards Manville Road. At the end of the project, reconfigured parking will remain on the railroad side of the median, and we will add plantings, trees and lawn area near the monuments. The project is expected to cost approximately $650,000, which is supported by $450,000 in grant funding. This work contributes toward the proposed civic space, if that project is undertaken in the future, and will begin in late September. Click here to see an overview of the planting plan.
Pedestrian/vehicular safety on Saw Mill River Parkway at Grant St.: The Village recently engaged in a meeting with NYS Senator Stewart-Cousins, Assemblymember Shimsky, and NYS Department of Transportation representatives to address safety concerns at the Grant Street intersection on the Saw Mill River Parkway (SMRP). This intersection, under NYSDOT’s jurisdiction and patrolled by Westchester County Police, has a notable accident history. Proposed safety enhancements include the installation of electronic signage, synchronized with traffic signals, to alert drivers of upcoming red lights; improved maintenance of road-side plants; and, the placement of a red-light camera at the intersection. Further discussions are planned, and the Village Board will provide an update on the meeting outcomes and next steps at an upcoming work session.
2024 Roadway Pavement Management Program (RPMP): The Village’s annual pavement management program is nearly complete. This year’s repaving efforts include essential work such as manhole, catch basin cover, and grate replacement, as well as pavement milling and resurfacing. The roads addressed in this year’s program are Brentwood Drive, Brookside Place, Cedar Lane, Dogwood Lane, Hillcrest Terrace, Onderdonk Place, and Memorial Plaza (northern traffic island)
