WOW! What an event!
Our first Multi-Chamber networking event was an incredible success! We had over 100 attendees representing businesses from seven Chambers of Commerce: Armonk, Chappaqua-Millwood, Greater Ossining, Mt. Kisco, Mt. Pleasant, Pleasantville, and Sleepy Hollow-Tarrytown.
A huge thank you to the staff at The Pleasantville Manor for taking such good care of us and ensuring everything ran smoothly.
We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future and continuing to build strong connections within our business community.
Thank you for your participation and support. Stay tuned for details about our next event!

May 20, 2025 What’s Happening in the Village of Pleasantville Update – May/June 2025Village Budget: In April. the Village Board of Trustees passed the FYE2026 budget, which runs from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026. The budget is approximately $44,000 below the NYS tax cap with a tax rate increase of 2.37%. The budget can be viewed here. Updated downtown parking map available online: The Village’s updated parking map is available online. Please click here to view. Get your tickets to the Pleasantville Music Festival: The 2025 Pleasantville Music Festival will take place on Saturday, July 12. Tickets can be purchased online here, or in-person at the Recreation Department building at 48 Marble Avenue between 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday. Update on the new Village Pool: Construction is well underway with the goal to have the pool ready for use by mid-June 2025. Please join the new pool for its inaugural season, Membership information is available here. Summer 2025 concert series in the new Memorial Plaza civic space: The Department of Parks & Recreation is excited to present the Summer 2025 Concert Series, featuring three free community concerts in the Memorial Plaza Civic Space. Scheduled for June 28, July 26, and August 23 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, these events will showcase live performances by local artists, food trucks, and family-friendly games. Mark your calendars—and stay tuned for more details! Roselle Playground Community Build: The Roselle Playground has been removed with new play structures scheduled for construction in May. The design, which can be viewed here, was selected by a working group of residents who volunteered their time to select playground designs. The Village is recruiting volunteers to participate in a ‘community build’ for the construction of the new Roselle playground, scheduled for May 30 and May 31. Click here for more information. Soldiers and Sailors Playground Reconstruction: New playground equipment for the Soldiers and Sailors playground is planned for October 2025. Click here to view renderings of the new playground. 444 Bedford Road (former Chase building): A proposed mixed use development that includes 36 apartments had been before the Planning Commission for many months. The applicant will appear at the upcoming Planning Commission meetings for continued review and public hearing on Wednesday, May 28. See application here. Blue Envelope Program for Drivers with Special Needs: The Blue Envelope Program is intended to improve communication between law enforcement officers and people with autism or other disabilities during traffic stops. Participants may pick up a blue envelope from the Pleasantville Police Department to store their driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance card. Officers will be trained to recognize the envelope and understand its purpose. Each envelope will include instructions for both the driver and the officer to help ensure a calm and effective interaction. If stopped by police, drivers should report that they have a blue envelope and provide it to the officer, who will then follow the guidance to facilitate clear communication. Civic Space – Memorial Plaza (Northern End): Project punch-list and close-out items have been completed, and the Memorial Plaza Civic Space is now open to the public. Landscaping of the northern parking island will be completed this spring. Clark Street / Soldiers & Sailors Drainage Project: This project has been successfully completed. It involved replacing aging stormwater infrastructure along Clark Street and Bedford Road to address flooding issues at Soldiers & Sailors Park. We appreciate the patience of Clark Street neighbors during this work. Cooley Street Improvements (between Manville Road and Bedford Road): Roadway and drainage improvements are complete. Cooley Street is now open to pedestrian and vehicular through traffic, as well as public parking. Sidewalk Construction – Springfield Court to Pierce Drive: Sidewalk improvements along Bedford Road, from Springfield Court to Pierce Drive, are substantially complete. The project included new concrete curbs and sidewalks, ADA-compliant curb ramps, drainage improvements, a stone masonry retaining wall, and a box-beam guiderail. Partial funding came from developer escrow funds from the original subdivision; remaining costs were funded through the Village’s capital budget. Guiderail installation near Pleasant Village Estates is expected in May. Manville Road Pedestrian Project Update: The project, which has added pedestrian safety enhancements to the New York State Department of Transportation roadway, is close to completion with ‘punch-list’ items remaining. The work should be completed this summer. Nannahagan Brook Wall Reconstruction Project: This project addresses severe erosion affecting the retaining wall along Nannahagan Brook near Lake Street, adjacent to 2 Lake Street (the former Village water pumphouse). Approximately 500–700 linear feet of deteriorated wall will be replaced to protect nearby infrastructure, including water, sewer, and gas lines, and to relocate one of the Cottage School’s water service lines. The estimated project cost is $1.75–$2.25 million. The Village has secured approximately $700,000 in New York State grant funding. Design development is at 30%, with construction anticipated to begin Summer/Fall 2026. Nannahagan Walking Path Reconstruction: The asphalt walking path between Nannahagan Park (Village Pool) and 2 Lake Street is scheduled for replacement in conjunction with the brook wall project. This capital improvement is supported by $18,300 in grant funding from the New York State Hudson River Valley Greenway. Water Storage Tank Replacement: The Village’s two 1-million-gallon water storage tanks, which supply potable and emergency water, are nearing the end of their useful life. Constructed in the early 1900s and later rehabilitated, both tanks will be replaced. The estimated project cost is $6.0–$6.5 million and will be funded through the issuance of bonds paid for by the Village’s water fund. This project will require increases to water rates. The Village is actively seeking grant funding to offset costs. Design development is expected to begin in Fall 2025/Winter 2026, with construction projected from Fall 2026/Winter 2027 through Spring/Summer 2028. Lead Service Line Inventory Program: In accordance with federal Lead and Copper Rule Revisions, the Village is identifying all water service line materials within the Pleasantville Water District. In partnership with Woodard & Curran Engineering, the Village submitted a Water Service Line Inventory (WSLI) to the New York State and Westchester County Departments of Health prior to the October 16, 2024, federal deadline. Properties built before June 1986 were flagged for further investigation. Notifications were mailed to property owners in November 2024 with service line classifications such as “Lead,” “Galvanized Steel Requiring Replacement (GSLRR),” or “Unknown.” Predictive modeling and field inspections are now underway to verify unknown materials. For more information on the WSLI program, please click here. Water Rates Increases: To plan for long-term reliability of the Village’s water infrastructure, a comprehensive water rate study was conducted to determine the funding needed for critical upgrades. In addition to replacing aging water storage tanks and mandates to replace lead service lines, the Village maintains miles of water mains that deliver water to residents. Many of these mains were originally installed in the early 1900’s and, while periodic relining has extended their lifespan, full replacement will be necessary in the coming years. The analysis determined that a 9.5% increase in both water rates and the ready-to-serve fee will be required for the Fiscal Year End 2026 budget, which begins June 1, 2025, to help fund necessary infrastructure projects. For a typical Village resident, this increase is estimated to result in an additional $77 annually on their water bill. A summary of the water rate analysis can be found here. The Village of Pleasantville is participating in Sustainable Westchester’s ‘Solarize Westchester’ campaign: With current favorable incentives and tax credits, Sustainable Westchester relaunched their Residential Solarize program to facilitate the transition to solar for homeowners. Here’s how it works: Fill out Sustainable Westchester’s short form to receive a free solar assessment. You will have the chance to meet with a member of their solar team to discuss the assessment. If you decide to move forward, you’ll be connected with vetted solar installers from their network, who will provide proposals. Sustainable Westchester will check in on you throughout your solar journey, ensuring ample support during the whole process. 98 Washington Avenue Update: In 2016, Westchester County acquired 98 Washington Avenue and conveyed it to a private developer with deed restrictions that require it to be used for affordable housing. Although the project received a building permit, it was never completed. Eventually, Westchester County sued the owner (MIGI Asset Acquisition LLC) for failure to complete the County-supported project. After a lengthy legal process, the property was sold in March to Lifting Up Westchester, a nonprofit organization dedicated to housing initiatives. With County support, Lifting Up Westchester plans to renovate the building and complete the 14 units of affordable housing. Their project is zoning-compliant and aligns with the property’s deed restrictions. Lifting Up was granted building permits and construction is underway. Dining at the Clinton Street Senior Center: The Clinton Street Senior Center offers in-house dining five days a week, Monday through Friday, providing a welcoming space to enjoy a fresh meal with both new and old friends. Guests can choose from the hot meal of the day, a hamburger or cheeseburger with fries, or a sandwich selection, including tuna salad, chicken salad, grilled cheese, or turkey, all served with a cup of hot soup. Meals are $7 per person, and transportation is available. To reserve a meal, please call the center at (914) 769-2021 before 9:00 AM on the day you plan to dine. The menu is available at the center and online in our newsletter. Overdose Recovery Kits Available at the Pleasantville Police Department: The Pleasantville Police Department, in partnership with the Urban League of Westchester, is now offering free Overdose Recovery Kits to anyone who needs them. These lifesaving opioid overdose response kits contain Narcan (naloxone), a simple-to-use and highly effective medication that can reverse the effects of an accidental opioid overdose. Community members can pick up a kit anonymously by visiting the Pleasantville Police Department at Village Hall (Bedford Road entrance). New recycling app ‘Recycle Coach’ now available: Village residents now have access to a new recycling app. Westchester County’s Department of Environmental Facilities (DEF) partnered with ‘Recycle Coach’ to launch a free mobile app to help make recycling and solid waste information more accessible for Village residents. The Sustainable Westchester mobile app, ‘Recycle Right Westchester’, is no longer available. ‘Recycle Coach’ connects residents with their collection schedules, shares local disposal and recycling information and supplies educational tools to help make it easier to recycle products. Users can access ‘Recycle Coach’ for free from their desktop computers and mobile devices. The app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. Child safety seat inspections: Officer Velardo of the Pleasantville Police Department has obtained a child passenger safety certification and will be available to inspect child safety seats by appointment. To schedule an inspection, please call Police Department’s non-emergency line at 914-769-1500. Development/Private Property Update:
