Jennifer Kohn has lived in Pleasantville for 20 years and bought The Village Bookstore in 2018. She had a 25 year career in public relations, marketing and communications before purchasing the store. She has worked with tech brands, for profit and non profit education organizations with a focus on disrupting the status quo to change how people learn. A lifelong reader, she is thrilled to own an independent bookstore and partner with libraries, arts organizations and schools to bring the joy of reading to people of all ages.
Since taking over the bookstore she has created the Local Author Book Club, Silent Book Club, Middle School Summer Party, Indie Bookstore Day with Nick Bruel and Chalk the Walk for Banned Books as well as launching the store’s first website and ability to shop for books online. The Village Bookstore has hosted several Pleasantville High School Special Education interns and for two years hosted a high school galley club where students received advance copies of books. The store supports over 50 author events annually with community partners and libraries.
Jennifer is married and has three sons.
